It’s the holiday season and festivities are everywhere. The great thing about Denver is that there is never a lack of events to attend. No matter what you are interested in, there is undoubtedly something you will enjoy. December and January are great months to explore, so we’ve rounded up some fun items you and the family can try this year.

Southwest Rink at Skyline Park

When: Nov. 22, 2016-Feb. 14, 2017

Head to Downtown Denver and enjoy this free ice skating rink. Need skates? No problem – you can rent them here. Maybe you aren’t sure how to skate, but want to learn. Well, Saturday mornings are you for; learn everything you need to know. If you have your own pair, bring them along and skate away. Each week, they have different activities, music, and festivities for all. It is a great place to enjoy some time outside and take in the pretty winter around you.


Winter Brew Fest

When: Jan. 27-28, 2017

For those looking for some of-age fun, Winter Brew Fest is for you. Hosted at Mile High Station, you will get to sample beers from over 40 breweries. Find the taste that’s best for you. Enjoy live music, friends, and good beer. You can get your tickets in advance or at the venue the day of.


Denver Christkindl Market

When: Nov. 18, 2016-Jan. 1, 2017

This German Christmas market brings an old-world European feel to Skyline Park in Downtown Denver. Here you can try authentic food and drink, shop with vendors, enjoy holiday lights, and listen to great music. It is a pretty neat market, especially because a lot of these vendors come from around the world to be at the market.


Blossom of Lights

When: Nov. 25, 2016-Jan. 1, 2017

Denver Botanic Gardens is hosting its annual Blossom of Lights. Walk around and experience the interactive features and lights. While exploring, enjoy a hot drink to keep you warm. You can purchase tickets online or at the venue. It is a pretty spectacular sight!


The Polar Express Train Ride

When: Nov. 10-Dec. 23, 2017

One Christmas story that many of us know is that of The Polar Express. As a passenger, you and your family can relive the journey as it is brought to life. You get to experience the sounds and sights of that train ride, topped with refreshments and music. Your little ones will love this and if you enjoyed the story, you will too.
