5 Spring Festivals Colorado Can’t Wait to Attend

Colorado Festivals
After months of donning hats, gloves, scarves, and jackets, it’s exciting to be able to hang up the skis and welcome the warmth. Thankfully, the Centennial State has a variety of ways to celebrate one of the most beautiful seasons in Colorado. One of our favorites? Festivals!  Here’s a list of five fun festivals in Colorado to help you shake off winter:

We kick off our list with something adrenaline junkies are gearing up for–The Fruita Fat Tire Festival.
The town of Fruita sits just west of the Colorado National Monument and is known for its mountain biking park. Each year, fans gather for the weekend-long event which includes demos, live music, and guided rides. Celebrate the 23rd anniversary May 4th-6th.

Our second spring festival is much more quaint. The Five Points Jazz Festival celebrates the history of Five Points Neighborhood, once known as the ‘Harlem of the West’, and is free to the public to attend. The lineup includes Dinosaurchestra, Leon and the Revival, and the Hazel Miller Band. It’s an event you don’t want to miss! There’s even a parade starts the whole event at 11:00 am! Bring the family and your dancing shoes May 19th.

Telluride has become a staple for festivals for years; however, voted one of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World by Movie Maker, this inspiring festival is one that any movie buff can’t miss. Held every Memorial Day Weekend, The Telluride Mountainfilm Festival showcases non-fiction films centered on current environmental, social justice, and cultural issues. Along with movie showings, there are special guests, presentations, book signings, live music, and more! Passes are on sale now.

Located in the state’s capital, the Denver Arts Festival is dedicated to showcasing local Colorado artists. Now celebrating its 20th year, it has grown to be a staple festival in Colorado with over 100,000 attendees and is free to attend. This year features a wine and beer garden, local musicians, and a kids art zone. Check out what Colorado’s best brings, including furniture, jewelry, mixed media, and clothes May 26 and 27th. There’s something here for everyone, which continues to put this festival at the top of our list!

The final spring festival on our list is one of the newest Colorado offers and is one of the largest electronic festivals in the state. Sonic Bloom sneaks in as our last spring festival June 14th-17th. Although headlined by EMD superstar Tipper and Bonobo, this festival isn’t just about music! Other lineups include activities such as live paintings, yoga, performance art, and speakers throughout the whole weekend.
You can join the fun in Rye, Colorado, near Hummingbird Ranch. Tickets, camping passes, and VIP packages can all be purchased online now. Grab your tickets before they run out!
